Pierre Türschmann

Dr. Pierre Türschmann serves as the Founder and CEO of Interherence GmbH. The Interherence team pioneers the development of innovative tools for the straightforward and reproducible characterization of biological matter, delving down to the single-molecule level. They harness cutting-edge technologies, including integrated optics, electronics, super-resolution microscopy, and modern data analysis. Given the inherent complexity of biological matter, even minor deviations in experimental conditions can yield different system behaviors. Consequently, maintaining stringent control over experimental measurement conditions is imperative for ensuring reproducible data. Interherence’s flagship products, including tools like VAHEAT for precise and dynamic temperature adjustments, AIROBOX for atmospheric control in live cell experiments, and QUSCITE, a waveguide-based total internal reflection system, are designed to meet this crucial need. These advanced tools not only enable precise experimental control but also expand the scope of what is physically feasible, leading to fresh scientific insights. For instance, VAHEAT facilitated the groundbreaking observation of the cell division of a single sulfolobus cell using a light microscope—an achievement previously thought unattainable. In this manner, Interherence continues to contribute significantly to scientific progress by providing tools that redefine the boundaries of exploration in biological research.
